Farewell Marvin

It is with a heavy heart that I announce the passing of Melvin the Meriva. He lived a good life, and served the Scotland/Ireland Mission well. He was a friend, a companion, and you could always count on him to get you where you needed to go. He lived great, and he died great in the eyes of the SIM Missionaries. His passing marks the end of Merivas in the mission. May his legacy live on
forever.

This week has been so hectic!! I don't have much time, so I'll do the highlights. Monday we went to the Rock of Cashel for Pday. Look it up, cause it is one of the prettiest castles in the world!! It's so crazy, and honestly reminds me of Harry Potter. We also went to an Abbey in the middle of a pasture. Like there are cows just chilling around this 500 year old building. that's Ireland for ya haha! Tuesday we were on exchanges in Cork, and that was an adventure as always. Throughout the week we were able to meet with Kristen 3 times. On Saturday she was interviewed for baptism, and she passed! We also met with Lisa and helped her finalize everything for the baptism. So we'll be able to see both of them be baptised on this Saturday!! We're so excited for them, and can't wait for Saturday!
Crazy stories for the week. We had a lesson with a guy we think is a drug dealer drop as he walked away with two sketchy guys for what looked like a drug deal. We had the senior couple in Galway, who are also archaeologists, give a devotional on the archaeological proof of the Book of Mormon. We went into a catholic church and lit and candle and said a prayer. We had our picture taken by a Russian girl, and we got a new car! (Reason for the funeral announcement at the top). So ya it was pretty busy, but really good!
The one thing I want to say is from the talk I had to give yesterday. I quoted the poem called The Race, and just wanted to share my favorite line from that with you. "For all of life is like that race, with ups and downs and all. And all you have to do to win is rise each time you fall." I hope you all know how true that is. No matter what you've done, you can change! I love you all and hope you have a great week!
