Super Splash Bros

Hey everyone!! This week has been sooo good! We've been blessed beyond belief here, and I am so excited for what the future holds!
Monday was a pretty normal P-Day, we got some nice haircuts, did some shopping, and ya that was basically it haha! That night is when things got real. We set up a meeting with John, the former investigator that came to church last week. We went into the lesson with no real lesson plan, we just wanted to ask some good questions and figure out where he was in life. We started talking with him, and it basically turned into him telling us about his conversion story! He has been investigating the church for almost 2 years now, and has had some amazing things happen. The only problem was it was causing some trouble with him wife. So he decided to stop meeting with the missionaries to ease everything at home. He then tried to prove to himself that the church was wrong and it was just a phase he was going through, so he looked up a lot of Anti-Mormon stuff. But he told us that instead of turn him away from the church, it's what led him back! He saw how dumb the arguments were, and decided that he needed to come back! He's read from the Book of Mormon, know's Joseph Smith is a prophet, and is good friends with many members of the church! So we were shocked to hear all of this! We kept asking questions that were very inspired, and he kept reassuring us and himself that this was the path he needed to take! There came a point where there was a little break in the conversation, and he asked "So what's next?" Elder Garrick asked, " What do you think we should do next?" He then responded that he wanted to be baptised! We were kinda shocked! But said "Well ya that would be good!" We then made the plan that he was going to go home and tell his wife, and then we'd meet up again on Thursday and set a date!! So obviously me and my comp came out of the lesson yelling "LETS GO!!" Haha it was honestly one of the coolest most spiritual lessons I've ever been in!
Tuesday we had our first district meeting of the transfer! It was really good, and we were all able to set some goals on how we can improve our areas.  We then had our weekly lunch with Peter, which was great as usual! We then spent most of the day finding. That evening though we met with Alex and the bishop at the church, and just tried to get on the same page with Alex wanting to be baptised. It was a really good meeting, and we were able to all finally see eye to eye haha. But we found out later in the week that, due to work, Alex wasn't able to be baptised this last week... and also wasn't able to come to church. So our goal now is to have him come to church this coming week, and then hopefully have him baptised next weekend.
Wednesday we had exchanges with the Elders in Beith! I was with Elder Sazaki, and he's from Japan! He's a really cool and funny kid, and exchanges were really fun with him! Sadly it wasn't too busy. We had a lot of people we had set up appointments with and were going to try by, but none of them showed or were home. So it was just a lot of travelling, but it was good to get to know Elder Sazaki more!
Thursday we had a lot of finding! We met some interesting characters out finding haha. And Elder Garrick may have called a woman sir, but all in all it was great haha! That night we met with John, and had the member that invited him back to church come as well! It was an awesome lesson, and we addressed some of John's concerns he had with becoming a member. And we then set him with a date for this Saturday!! We're so excited for him and to see him take this step in his life! He's such a legend, and will make an amazing member!
Friday was... interesting. We had planned to help a less active move, and were told it'd take about 2 hours. We get to their house, and find that they don't really have anything ready for us! Long story short, it took almost 5 hours. But you know it's ok, at least we were able to help these less actives out! That night we had a dinner appointment with the Sangster family. They're an amazing family, and it was so much fun to get to know them better!
Saturday we decided to try and stop by all of the former investigators we could in some certain towns in our area. It was an all day thing, and no one was home haha. So that was a long day, but we actually met a really cool guy on the bus to a town called Springside. He wasn't very interested in religion, but loved to talk and is really just a cool guy.
Sunday was actually pretty eventful! We had church, which is always good. But when we came in we saw the whole Stake Presidency was there, so we knew something was going on. Turns out they rearranged the Bishopric here! Our new bishop is amazing and sooo missionary minded, so we're really excited to work with him! After church we stopped by a family that Jason McDougal taught when he was here! They're super nice, and we'll be going back over Thursday to have dinner with them! In the evening we had the zone leader come down and interview John for baptism, and he passed! We're so excited for him, and can't wait to keep meeting with him this week! That night we had an awkward amount of time that we didn't know what to do with. So we decided that, since we hadn't done out light the world service for the day, we were gonna do a little act of service! We got a Kinder Bueno bar (they're CRAZY good chocolate bars) and taped a Mormon.org card on it. We then walked down the high street looking for someone to give it too. We saw a man sitting on a bench, and decided he needed some chocolate! We went over and gave it to him, and he was so grateful! We started talking a little bit with him, and found out he lives in the area next to ours. We told him to go onto the website and see how he can do acts of service for other people too! He was way cool, and hopefully something good comes from it!
This week really has been amazing, and I'm so grateful for a Heavenly Father who knows us and helps us become the best we can be. I know this church is true, and hope you all have a great week!!
