All Over Irvine. Hey. Yo. I'm Gonna Let It Shine.

Hello everyone!!!
I just want to start off by saying thank you to everyone who sent Christmas card and other letters over the holidays! It was so cool to hear from all of you, and I really appreciate the kindness!!
This past week has been amazing!! Our area is really starting to catch fire, and people are starting to come out of nowhere! We've been putting in our effort, and we have an amazing bishop and ward here that have been helping a ton!
Tuesday we were able to go and have a meeting with the bishop and ward mission leader. In the meeting the Bishop gave us and the Sisters a list of Less Active and Part Member families that he specifically chose cause he feels they have the most potential for baptism and reactivation. This is a huge blessing, especially here in Scotland, cause not many bishops would take the time to make this list, and then to chose which ones he felt needed us most. It was a great meeting and we then set a goal to try by as many people on this list as we could this last week. This started Tuesday night when we went by the Quayle family. The whole family are converts, but they've been less active for about a year now. We went by their door, and they let us in! We were able to go over what first got them into the church, and they told us how they want to start coming back so their daughter, who's going into high school, will have a solid foundation. It was an amazing meeting, and we'll be seeing them again this week.
Wednesday we had exchanges with the Beith Elders, and I was with Elder Sazaki. It was a great exchange, but the weather was pretty bad so we weren't able to talk to too many people. But it was nice to be able to talk with him and see what we can do to help them. That night we had coordination meeting, and afterwards Brother Minchin shared a really neat spiritual message from Alma 17. It really helped me to see that all of us are here for a reason, and is we put in the effort we can see miracles here!!
Thursday was a kinda strange day. We had weekly planning in the morning, then we went to lunch at a members home. The Broadfoots are an amazing older couple, and they fed us a TON of food haha. As we were walking away from their home, we get a text asking if we can give a 25 min instruction the next day from the Zone leaders. We ask what's tomorrow, and they told us then that we had ZLC Friday at 9 AM. So we then spent most of the afternoon planning an instruction and making a powerpoint to present at ZLC. We met with John at the church in the middle of that, and had a great lesson with him! We were able to have a priest in the ward named Adam Peden come along as a joint teach, and he helped a ton! That evening we had decided to go and try by Alex, cause we hadn't heard from him in a long while. We get to the bus stop, and there was Alex waiting for the bus! We rode the bus back to his house with him, and were able to have a quick lesson with him. This was really good, cause we hadn't met with him since Elder Garrick left. We got him back with a date on the 26th of this month, and are hoping that his commitment will be a bit better not that his jobs have slowed down.
Friday we had ZLC in the morning, and we blew them all away with our amazing instruction. ;) Haha but it was a really good meeting! We then had lunch at a members home, and headed back to Irvine to find! We ended up having a little bash with a born again guy, but that happens pretty often haha. After Dinner we went by another two people on the list bishop had given us, and once again they both let us in! One is a teacher we're helping prepare to become a priest, and hopefully activate his less active father in the process. The other is an older less active man, and we're going back to meet him tonight!
Saturday we started by meeting with Alex in the morning. We retaught him the restoration, and had him commit to come to church! He needs to come to church at least one more time before he gets baptised, and we really just want him to get back in the habit of coming to church. We then went out finding in the afternoon. Than evening we spent about 40 min trying to find a less active's address, and when we finally did he wasn't home, so that was a bit frustrating, but it was all good in the end haha.
Sunday started off a bit depressing. We were expecting a few less actives and Alex to be at church, but no one ended up showing. I was pretty bummed out all of church. Then during sacrament, I got this thought that Christ not only suffered for our sins, but he felt all of our shame, disappointments, and sorrow. I then said a prayer asking him to help me with these feelings of disappointment. Suddenly I just felt lighter and happier, and I knew that it was all gonna be ok. I'm so grateful for my Savior!!! Then a miracle happened on the bus ride back from our dinner appointment. We had been fasting for a miracle, and then as we got on the bus, in walks Stuart and Sarah-Jane! If you don't remember, they were the less active and his partner that we'd been teaching when I first got here. We didn't have a working phone number for them, and we never could catch them in either, so we ended up dropping her. But then they came and sat right next to us on the bus! We talked with them about how they'd been, and we'll be seeing them on Wednesday!
This week has truly been a week of miracles!! I'm so grateful for the many blessings I've received, and can't wait to get out and go to work this week!! I love you all, and hope you have a great week!
