Haggis, Neeps, and Tatties!!

Hiya everyone!! This week had it's ups and downs, but the ups definitely outweighed the downs!! We were kept really busy all through the week, and had to keep running from appointment to appointment most days haha! Wednesday we had an amazing conference in Edinburgh for all the Scotland South missionaries, and it was so good!! I will always love those conferences, there's just such a great feeling when you get a bunch of missionaries together! The focus was on magnifying our calling, and looking to heaven for help in this work. This is his work, not ours!! A quote I love by mother Teresa helps to illustrate this point.
“It’s [God’s] work. am like … pencil in his hand. … He does the thinking. He does the writing. The pencil has nothing to do with it. The pencil has only to be allowed to be used.
This is so true! We must understand that we can do nothing on our own, it's when we allow ourselves to be moved and moulded by God that we can accomplish all that we need to in this life. So all in all, the conference was amazing!!
The downs of the week came with our friend Alex. We've been working with him for quite some time now, but he's just not putting in the effort. We've done all that we can, but ultimately it's his choice, and we can't force him. This was pretty frustrating, and we're not sure what else to do with him.
BUT on to the ups!! What a stinking miracle golden investigator we have!! Nathan has absolutely surprised us, and is set to be baptised this Saturday!! He's honestly the coolest kid! He is a little socially awkward, but he really trusts us, and accepts everything we tell him! He understands things when we teach them to him, and is able to teach it back to us after! He loves coming to church, and went around this last week to all the members telling them how much he loves the Book of Mormon! Honestly this kid is the biggest miracle, and we just met him on the street!! We're so excited for him, and can't wait for him to make this big step in his life! Another plus was on Sunday, our recent convert John gave his first sacrament talk! It was honestly one of the best talks I've ever heard. He got up there and shared his entire conversion story, and it helped reaffirm my testimony that there are those people out there who are looking for the truth, just don't know where to find it. He is such a great guy, and I've loved the chance to work with him!
So all in all, this has been a great week! I'm so grateful for the chance I have to be out here serving my Lord!! I love him, and want to do all that I can to please him. I love you all and hope you have a great week!!
